I live in Barcelona, Spain. Spain is a country made up of many people and cultural traditions. Catalonia (Catalunya in the Catalan: the language spoken in Catalunya) is a geographical region located in the north eastern part of Spain. Barcelona is the capital, (sort of like a state in the US). Understanding the long history and rich culture of Catalunya is important, a big help in understanding the Catalan composers. I have been lucky to personally know and work with many of the composers here listed. Others I have come close to through their family and people who knew and worked with them. I hope the information provided helps give a better view of them as musicians, composers and as people!
